Anime North

Fri May 29, 2009, 6:54 AM
Hello, all!

Well, this is a bit late, but I got back from Anime North late last Sunday, and it was a blast! I picked up five volumes of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, mostly used and all at a great price, and a few more pins for my pin hat. I finally have a pokemon pin for the hat, which is good because I'm a total pokenerd and that really needed to be represented. I should take some pictures of my pin hat for my deviantart scraps.

The tabletop gaming section of the con was also awesome. I went to a panel on writing for the gaming industry and got to meet, amongst other RPG writers, Jess Hartley, author of Exalted: In Northern Twilight and contributor to many of the Exalted sourcebooks. She's a really nice person, and her and the other panellists (also professional RPG writers) were very informative!

Even cooler than meeting Jess Hartley was /roleplaying/ with her, she was playing my character's official rival in a two-n-a-bit hour Cybergeneration LARP, my first LARP ever and a lot of fun. For those who haven't heard of Cybergen, it's a great post-cyberpunk RPG where you play as kids, age 8-18, in the Incorporated States of America rebelling against your parents, The Man, technology, consumerism, other kids, or whatever else you feel like. And then there are superpowers... It's awesome and easy to play and not as popular as it should be, go buy it here: [link]

I have other Cybergeneration news on a more artistic note, but I think I just signed a contract swearing myself to secrecy.

Speaking of things I've just done, meet :iconmyra-designs: , my professional account on DA. I've decided it's about time I start taking this art business a smidge more seriously, so that account is for all my professional work, portfolio pieces and designs specifically created for sale as prints, t-shirts, etc. Go forth and buy t-shirts with flying waffles on them so I can afford important things like food, the internet and new pants!

I'll also likely have private commission rates up there soon, or message me if you want to hire me to do freelance work for your small business. Tell your friends, your parents, your pets, complete strangers, etc. I know I will!

Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam
Ja, it did, except I think I destroyed something in my foot for walking too much.

Well...not really. It still bothers me when I walk. I think it's one of those ouchies that don't bother you at first, but then later, you start to feel it, and they heal slowly.
